About Dambulla
Dambulla is home to the Golden Temple of Dambulla, the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Five caves set into a granite hill hold more than 150 Buddha statues and over two thousand square metres of vivid murals covering the ceilings and walls, some dating back more than two thousand years. It is one of the country's most important and atmospheric Buddhist sites.

Good to know
